About TarkovTools
Ballistics answers for raiders who want numbers, not vibes: exact ammo data, honest penetration models, and a planner that tells you what to actually load.
Why this site exists
Ammo in Tarkov is a spreadsheet game disguised as a shooter: dozens of rounds across nine calibers, penetration values that decide fights before they start, and armor classes that make half of your stash useless against the wrong opponent. The data exists (tarkov.dev's API is excellent), but turning it into a decision ("what do I bring to this raid") still takes tabs, spreadsheets and guesswork.
TarkovTools compresses that into three tools: the chart (browse), the calculator (penetration vs armor), and the solver (best round for your situation).
How the tools are built & tested
- Data from tarkov.dev. Ammo and armor stats come from the community's open tarkov.dev dataset, the same source that powers most modern Tarkov tools; compile notes on the methodology page.
- Documented model, published limits. Penetration maths follows the community model with its approximations stated openly, no hidden fudge factors.
- Client-side. No accounts, no uploads, works offline once loaded.
- Corrections welcome. If a stat is wrong or a patch changed the maths, tell us.
How the site makes money
Right now: nothing. TarkovTools is independent and self-funded. Any future sponsorships will be clearly labelled and never affect data or recommendations.
Who runs it
A small crew of Tarkov veterans and software engineers. We have been killed by every ammo type in this game and have opinions about all of them.
